What If... There was never a 3-point line?

by Danny Moloshok from http://www.sfexaminer.com/sanfrancisco/warriors-guard-klay-thompson-to-miss-fridays-game/Content?oid=2733228

Would it be fun to watch NBA anymore with the long distant bombs? For instance, the New York Knicks down by three, Carmelo Anthony comes in transition and pulls up for a 3-point. Bang. Tied game. Klay Thompson hits a three point. Sixth three-pointer of the game. People like me, enjoy watching jump shots swishing through the silky net. It shows the players range and what they're capable of. Especially from where Kobe Bryant and Damian Lillard can shoot from.

But what if the three-point line was gone? Post players and those who have inside scoring will be dominant. Nowadays it's all about drive, penetrate, and kick out to the open man. Would players such as Klay Thompson and Kyle Korver be valuable if not for their three pointer skill-set? Maybe or maybe not. This season, Klay Thompson is showing his inside game which makes him a valuable asset to the Golden State Warriors. Well-deserved contract Klay. It's interesting to see how the game would be like. Maybe players like Marc Gasol and Dwight Howard would be Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season. Who knows.
