What If... Josh Smith was picked up by the Los Angeles Lakers?

by Carlos Osorio from/ Associated Press from http://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/lat-sp-pistons-15-20141202-photo.html

Josh Smith was officially waived by the Detroit Pistons on December 22nd. With a line-up consisting of Josh Smith, Greg Monroe, Brandon Jennings, and Andre Drummond, they have not made it to the playoffs since they were formed. The Eastern Conference is not great as the Pistons should make it to the playoffs each year. What about the Lakers picking up Josh Smith? Maybe he needs to play with a superstar like Kobe Bryant. Josh Smith can help a player like Kobe Bryant because he can defend can run the fast break which Coach Byron Scott preaches of. Smith is not yet 30 years old yet and still in the midst of his prime. He is not the type of player the Lakers need to reach the playoffs but if they want excitement, Smith can give you that. The playoffs are still difficult, even the eighth seed as the teams are getting better and better. Smith needs a new home and the Lakers are a good place for him to start over if he was to get picked up.
